My country right, my country wrong, still my country

In George Washing's farewell address to the Nation, among many things, he also addressed party politics such as: "...I have already intimated to you the danger of parties within the State..This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, it exists under differ shapes in all governments...but in those of the Popular Form, it is seen in its greatest rankness and it is truly their (our) worst Enemy...It serves always to distract the public council;s and enfeebles the public administrations. It agitates the Communities with ill-founded jealousies and False-Alarms....IT OPENS THE DOORS TO FOREIGN INFLUENCE AND CORRUPTION...Thus the policy and will of our country are subject to the power and will of another." Earlier, in this address, he stated the following: "For this you have inducement of sympathy and interest. Citizens by birth or by choice of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of America, which belongs to you in national capacity, must exists in just pride of patriotism more than any application derived from local discrimination's." Now as than, the comments of George Washington could not be more timely! His foresight, one one could rightly say, uncanny. Today our nation is as divided we were prior to the Civil War. We are today divided as were than. Why has our nation as it stands today, so divided- The question should be, when has it become so popular to be disloyal to ones .country. Well for one thing, many of our citizens of today, are unwilling to be assimilate into our system of government, they prefer to be called Hyphenated Americans. Those that choose to be looked on as hyphenated Americans, can only be looked on as having a certain grudge or in fact an outright hatred of this country. Today, we have been called a mean country, an oppressor nation, a mean country and yes even in church our country has been called Goddamn America. Many of these citizens also think we stole this land from the Indians and/or that we stole the Border States, from the Mexicans--none of which is true--you cannot claim land or property without first having possession. The Indians, never seem, as a people, perhaps more or less, ten percent of American. They never settled even one percent of this great land. The Mexicans never owned the Border States--They were owned by the Spanish and as such were the Spanish Border Lands. In the Mexican-American war, we defeated the Mexicans and in the process we conquered this land. Still we also, paid Mexico, as great sum of money for this land. Today, many of the Black Race, are crying out for Reparations, because their forefathers were Brought here as slaves. Thomas Sowell a black professor put it this way, "If the bench mark of today would be used, be the standard, than one would have to conclude that the descendants of former slaves it might be concluded, would own this nation for bringing them to this land, and or in words to that effect. Today, every time this subject is brought up, the fact that our nation was never a total Slave State, if it was, then I ask, who fought the Civil War. Today, as in the past, the White man, who founded and built this nation, is by all two many, blamed for the ills of others. Others that feel they, even in this day an age, cannot make it on their own. If otherwise, please explain why all these Socialistic freebies occupy your minds and your value systems. I Guess Freedom is no longer the objective but Freeloading is. Today, the Socialist Democratic Party is a party based on a constituency now 40 percent Dependant on Welfare in one form or another. This, today, is why we are divided by the Red States vs The Blue States. For the Most part, the Blue states have a larger population than the Red of a class of citizens that are now being served their freebies off the backs of the Productive members of our Nation. Every time a Democrat says he will give them something it has to free. Do not get me wrong, there are many, in all of our citizens, who are still the backbone of this country, love this country are willing to defend this country and are handworking people. These are still the Loyal and Proud Citizens of this Nation--They are Loyal and Freedom loving Citizens! The Messenger.
