Pres. Elect. Obama just doesn't get it. You cannot ffisix fixthe economy by fixing the infrastructure! It did not work to end the Great Depression than and it won't work now. The Primary definition/meaning of ECONOMY IS: 1.a. the wealth of a community: esp. in terms of production and services. The previous statement implies some form of TRADE: "trade"involves three things: A Seller, aProduct and a Buyer! Government can fix the infrastructure, by it is not a product of trade, it cannot be readily sold or even bought on the open markets, not in this country or the countries of the World. Like Taxes, they belong to the Tax payers. It is not a product of trade. Commerce: 1. Financial transaction, esp., the buying and selling of merchandise on a large scale. In --the economy is based on goods and service which are called commodties. Commodity 1. an article or raw material that can be bought and sold. Infrastructure: 1. a Basie structural foundation of a society or enterprise. it has value but not retail value--cannot be bought and, in general, on the open market.
