Part 1. Socialism - Utopianism - Progressive
The following are excerpts from a Book titled: Basic American Government written by Clarance
B. Carson:
1. "...the rise of socialism. Socialism has been the dominant concept driving such practices as
government control of economics, the redistribution of wealth by government...
2. The Utopians is often is beneath the surface... Although Utopian novels appeared from time to time in history, the 19th century was the greatest period of their production and the beginning of their impact.
3. Socialism is the main source of the notion that government is supposed to be the great force
for the well being of the populace.
4. Socialism arose in Europe in the 19th century in the wake of the French Revolution.
5. ...Socialists: They are gradualist's in believing the ends of socialism can be achieved by steps and stages within a country.
6. ...One thing was to try to turn Americans away from thinking in terms of the individual to thinking in terms of Society...
Furthermore, as gleaned from subject book: Major reforms of the major political parties, shifted toward reformism in the years preceding World War I. The shift of the Democrats may have been more dramatic.
This brings us to the major reforms of the Progressives. Progressiveness, as a Political Ideology
has fused together three points by which they can achieve progress. They are:
1. Progress could be achieved by use of government power.
2. Make Big Government Popular (Government larges).
3. Government, under Democratic Control to make people equal.
As one can readily see, for the past 100 years and more, there has been a plan, a method a
drive to take control of this government to achieve their goal of turning our government from
a Democratic Society, to a Socialistic one. Also, if one has does not have any sense as to what is happening in our government of today, you would have to be blind, stupid, or a willing contributor to the overthrow of our country. See part 2. to be published soon.
